READING LOG Students are required to read a minimum of 30 minutes every night. They will be asked to log their reading on their reading logs and they are also asked to get a parent/guardian initial to be sure that they completed the assignment. Please talk to your child about what he/she read that night. It is very important that students are able to support their thinking with evidence from the text. Ask your child about their reading, but ask them to support with evidence and to use evidence based terms (we have talked about these in class), i.e.: Based on what I read...; In the text it said...; According to the text...
HOMEWORK POLICY Homework is worth 10% of your child's DAILY grade. Reading and Writing Practice will be based on what is done in class. Some days it can be reading comprehension or inferring and other days it can be a skill we worked on in class. Writing Practice will be either a prompt or a skill we worked on in class. Work will be differentiated for each student's level. If students do not complete in class assignments due to off task behavior, it will be given for homework on top of the already assigned homework. It must be returned the following day for in class and homework credit.
If you have lost or misplaced your reading log, you can print a new one below!
